For Families
Nurture has been created by parents, who have extensive experience in the education sector, and are passionate about meeting the needs of families requiring childcare at home. We strive to offer the same level of quality and diligence that exists within the childcare industry, within the flexibility of your own home and schedule, so there are no compromises made for our families.
Our philosophy is Every Child Matters, and our carers are dedicated to this vision, whether attending a one-off, casual booking, or building lasting relationships with children and their families through regular, weekly bookings.
Nurture App brings our wonderfully experienced and dedicated caregivers into the family home on a personalised level, individualising the service for each family’s needs – aligning with their routines, culture and
everyday demands.
Nurture offers nannying and babysitting as its core service – whether your care needs are ongoing, casual or once-off. We offer these services for all types of families.
Whether it’s school or daycare pickup bookings on weekdays to fit around your work schedule, or casual jobs for travelling families looking for local carers; you can find any type of job that involves personalised childcare for families. Many of our carers have elevated experience or specialisations, including newborn experience, anaphylaxis training, and NDIS Support Work.
Nurture Nannies are also willing to support families with light housekeeping, running errands, and basic meal prep; when time permits, and it is safe to do so.
Our minimum booking is 2 hours in duration. You can book a carer for less than this, however you will be charged for the full two hours in this instance.
Our carers have a variety of experience caring for children of all ages, from newborns up. Each Carer’s profile will identify what ages they have had experience with to ensure you are selecting a carer with aligned experience to your child/ren’s age/s. Nannies have the ability to care for up to 4 children at one time (depending on the ages and abilities of the children).
Of course! Choosing your own carer is what Nurture is made for. We provide you with the details of all the carers in your area who are available to help, including their experience, qualifications and interests, and you select the Carer that suits your family’s needs and preferences.
At Nurture, we empower our carers to set their own rates, taking into account their experience and qualifications, as well as a range of other factors, including the time of day, and day of the week the booking takes place. The hourly rate you see when booking a Nurture Nanny is inclusive of all fees and charges – there’s no hidden booking costs, and best of all, registration is free! We cover insurance and all the extras so you can have complete peace of mind when using a Nurture Nanny.
No need to go to the ATM or remember your nanny’s bank details! Payment is taken automatically when your booking is confirmed, using the payment method you set up on your profile.
Yes, you can use NDIS funding! A number of our carers are NDIS Support Workers. If your individualised plan allows for childcare we can invoice accordingly – whether you are a plan managed participant or self-managed. Please discuss this with your plan manager if you are unsure.
Please note that NDIS rates may differ from Nurture rates. Unfortunately, at this stage CCS does not apply to at-home childcare. Sam, one of our Directors, is passionate about advocating for change on this front and stays connected with government representatives to ensure we are across any changes being discussed in parliament.
All Nurture Nannies must have:
2 years’ experience working with children, OR a formal qualification in Early Childhood Education
Working With Children’s Check (or state equivalent)
2 recent, child related references
National Police Check
First Aid and CPR Certificates
Valid Driver’s Licence and reliable car
We verify all our nannies before they can use the app and accept a booking. Once they are verified, families can view carer profiles, read their bios, and see any relevant qualifications and specialisations before booking, to ensure they’ve found the perfect match.

At Nurture, we empower carers to set their own rates. The only assurance we make is that you can’t set your rate below the minimum award rate.
The rate that you set, is the rate you will get paid. You never have to worry about administration fees coming out of your pay – you will keep 100% of what you charge. All Nurture Carers are also covered by our public liability insurance and WorkCover insurance, at no additional cost to you.
There is no limit to how much or little you work with us, so how much you can make is up to you. Our top earners make up to $1,400 per week, whereas some carers – such as early childhood educators – like to use Nurture as a way to top-up their weekly income.
Once we have received all your information, we aim to verify all carers within 3 working days. If you have sent us all your details and are still waiting to hear back, please email us at support@nurtureapp.com.au
